Last month's request for voluntary conservation resulted in even higher than normal usages.  In a motion made by Trustee Gynee Thomassen and seconded by Trustee Doug Keller, the Board voted unanimously to implement mandatory water restrictions.  In an effort to "stretch" the current water supply, Resolution No. 2018-06 provides strong restrictions to water uses, new connections and total number of gallons allowed for total usage.  New water rates and penalties are intended to regulate water use and to promote the conservation of Town's water resources, prevent waste, ensure adequate and consistent supplies of water for human consumption and fire suppression.  ALL users of the Town of Orchard City water are hereby put on notice that even stronger restrictions may be put into effect if these measures prove insufficient.  Notice shall be posted at Town Hall, in the Delta County Independent, the High Country Shopper and by U.S. Postal Service.  All pipeline companies shall be notified through their named point of contact person per their contract agreement.  PLEASE READ the drought declaration and restrictions in its entirety here:   Resolution No. 2018-06
